Feb. 23rd: "On the 22nd of October, I received a show of interest and then an email from Date.com. It would seem that this man in Hawaii had been scanning pictures and was seized (his words) by my photo. In this seized and confused state; somehow he lost my photo (deleted me). 24 hours later, he remembered a portion of my id and searched on the site. The search came up with a number of usernames with that name and as he looked through those; he found me again. He paid his money to join Date.com, and proceeded to send me an email that absolutely captured my attention. And as they say, the rest is history.
Almost immediately, it became quite clear that there was a connection on both sides. Somehow, the magic just came pouring through on both of our mindless machines, courtesy of Date.com. Otherwise, we would have never met at all. We emailed everyday and one week later, talked for the first time on the telephone. After that initial call, his phone bill for the following two weeks showed that we had talked for 40 hours. We spent many, many hours, emailing, talking and laughing and getting to know each other in the nicest way. Turns out our childhoods were similar but past that time, our backgrounds are entirely different, but we found that we had most everything in common, and felt absolutely comfortable from the first moment, meeting as we did with no preconceived notions, in the safe and protective environment of Date.Com.
On the 25th of November, I flew to Hawaii, so we could meet face to face and as soon as he placed that beautiful lei around my neck and kissed me ever so gently, we both knew it was the real thing... Two days later, he asked me to marry him and I said yes…
When I arrived back on the mainland, after a wonderful week on the Big Island, we knew right away that we were not willing to be apart for long, and the thought of him spending Christmas alone, was simply not acceptable. We decided that he would come for Christmas so that he could meet my three children, four wonderful grandchildren and good friends.
He arrived on the 23rd, and for the next four days we visited with my family and friends and then drove to Idaho to meet his family. On the 29th of December, with his 84 year old Dad as Best Man and his sister as Matron of Honor, we made a commitment to love and take care of each other for the rest of our lives. We have talked a great deal about the seemingly impossible chance of our meeting, “in cyberspace” and knowing almost immediately that we were absolutely destined to find each other, to fulfill hopes and dreams that both of us had, but never expected to realize, and that Date.Com was the avenue, that made all this possible. We are both eternally grateful for your service and will provide the best possible “free advertising” ever to leave your marketing department. We thank you so much, for what is the most precious gift ever… our very own lifetime “Soulmate.”
Keep up the good work, and we will be sending you many lonely singles with the hope that they too will be fortunate enough to make that 'connection'" |
