RELATIONSHIP ADVICE - ASK BRENDA

'Showing Interest' versus Email

Dear Brenda,

I'm not sure whether it's appropriate or necessary to "show interest" in someone I've also already emailed. I do it when I have something to say but also when I want to give them a quick link to my profile.  If I'm emailing someone and want them to know about my profile, is it better to just mention my handle (username) in the email? Is it redundant/does it make an awkward impression to both email AND show interest? Please advise. Thanks.
- Marty

Dear Marty,
To answer your question, you would do one or the other. "Show Interest" is mainly set up for non paying members to let another member know that they are interested - but it is limited as you cannot communicate further than that - until you sign up for a Gold Membership to activate email privileges.

Whether you are non-paying or a Gold member, whenever you send an email, your username (and a small version of your photo, if you have one posted on your profile) will be viewable in the receiver's inbox when they log into the site, so you don't have to mention your Username. It's all done for you.

My advice: If you already have a Gold membership, then by all means, you should send an email.
