Date Your Way to Your Best Dates
By Devlyn Steele
Everyone wants to find a great partner. That's natural; we are social beings who desire companionship. We want to be recognized, validated and loved. Often in pursuing this desire we put these very aspects of life on hold until we find someone. In fact we can go into self sabotaging mode and find ways of putting ourselves down, when we are single and frustrated in our dating success:
I can't find anyone. I must not be worthy of a finding someone. There must be something wrong with me. All the good ones are taken.
You can find someone. You are worthy of finding someone. There is nothing wrong with you.
And definitely all the good ones are not taken. There are tons of good ones out there just like you who are misguided in their thoughts and missing connections all the time. So at any moment if you line yourself up into better thinking you can meet someone who is doing the same, and boom. Great connections are born every day!
You need to be attracted to yourself before someone else can truly be attracted to you the way you want them to be. Think about it: If you act like a broken person, the person you will attract is a rescuer fixer upper. If you act like a couch potato the person you will attract is the same.
Who do you want to date?
Start by being someone who you would want to date. If you want to date an active person who plays tennis, then don't wait to be that person. Start dating yourself. Join a singles tennis group and start playing tennis. Ask yourself what kind of date can you take you on? Then go out and love yourself. Don't put your life on hold and don't limit yourself with how you are thinking. Remember the old saying, “You have to love yourself before you can love someone else.”
Change your thinking and your life will change.
Believe that you can find someone. You are worthy. There is nothing wrong with you.
Then start loving yourself today, and take yourself on a date. Before you know it, you won't be by yourself. Because there are plenty of good ones out there just like you.
