Making Time for Sex
You take care of yourself. You try to eat right, stay active, and look your best. Well, sexual satisfaction accounts for a considerable amount of your personal happiness too. But somehow, it can get pushed aside in favor of other, more mundane, everyday necessities. So what does it take to make time for sex?
First, it helps to make sex a priority. If it’s important to you, treat it like it is. If you can do the dishes tomorrow, take out the trash in the morning, or watch a movie “afterward” then do!
Are your days long? Do you hit the pillow and pass right out? Then you can start by getting more sleep! Sleeping in once or twice on the weekends doesn’t actually help. You need to get enough sleep regularly (often 8 hours per night) to be well rested. As my grandma always said, one good sleep deserves another… when you start to get caught up, expect to feel even more wiped out at first. Take good care of your body by giving it enough time to rest and the reduction in exhaustion and stress will improve your sex life automatically.
Now that you can get into bed without instantly going comatose, do so earlier. Entice your partner into the bedroom with a sexy outfit, some ambiance (candles, music, scents) or something as simple as fresh linens on the bed. Save the chores, work, or other evening obligations for after your intimate time if you have to.
All sex doesn’t happen at night… or in the bedroom, for that matter. Consider taking time out of your day to get it on with a partner or alone. A blissful lunch break makes the rest of the day go by much more easily. A playful morning can set the stage for a great day. Find creative times for a lovemaking session to fit it into a busy day.
Do you have a hectic schedule? Live out of your palm pilot or day planner? Then pencil in some booty! You don’t have to wait for it to “just happen” (especially if it never seems to). Plan a date with your honey and rearrange meetings or dinners around it! Now *that* is getting your priorities straight.
